I am almost tempted to change my blog's name to 'Riggs Recap" because I just cannot seem to get to my blog until the end if each week, oh well. We had a pretty good, but snowy week. Monday went by pretty fast and we started making plans for the snow storm that was supposed to hit Tuesday. Our class was supposed to go on a field trip but we rescheduled because we were not sure of the weather. We knew we would still have school, but the thought of having 60 preschoolers on a bus out in a snowstorm was not wise. We had lots of disappointed kids, but we will be going another day. Our family decided to take the bus and train to school Tuesday so we would not have to drive in it on the way home. The snow was beautiful, but not too much fun walking to the train station and waiting for the bus :) I think we got a total of 8 inches in our area. The kids could not believe that we had to go to school on Wednesday :) We are having some warmer weather this weekend so now the sidewalks and streets are just a wet mess, but Spring is on the way so I will deal with the melting snow!
The kids had a good week. Samuel (and the rest of CPS) started their yearly testing. It it really early in the year, but I guess they always do their testing this time of year. I am sure he will do great! Emma had a good week, but Chloe had a few rough days. She has started talking during class (when she is not supposed to be talking) and we had to have a conversation with her about being nice to others. One of the teacher's aids that help with their lunch had to find me at school and let me know that Chloe and two other girls were being unkind to two other girls. Chloe wants to be included so bad that unfortunately she jumps in with whoever will except her, and it usually is the ones who are making trouble :(
Well, last Sunday night was our first Bible study and it was disappointing that no body joined us. We just have to remember that we stay faithful and God will do the work. In the past few weeks Jeremy has had a chance to witness to two teachers at our school. Yesterday afternoon I had a great conversation with the girl I work with in the afternoon. She has some church background, but has not been to church in years. She said that she noticed that my life was different and that my faith just flows naturally from me. She said she went to church last Sunday and downloaded the Bible on her phone and has been reading it every morning. She shared with me some of the struggles that have been happening since she decided she needed to get back in church. It was a sweet moment and I am thankful for that opportunity. There is another teacher at our school that has been visiting the church we have been attending . She and her husband sat with us last week and they are actually coming over tomorrow for lunch. Praying God's blessing on our visit.
It has been an okay eating week for me. I felt hungrier this week for some reason. I am feeling good, though, and my clothes are fitting better :) I have been juicing several times a week and I know that has made a big difference. I stayed home all day today cleaning and doing laundry downstairs. It is a pain, but it is great exercise. I have figured out that if I only try the clothes for 20 minutes they do not overheat and leave the black marks on our clothes. They are still a little damp when I bring them back upstairs but it beats dragging everything to the laundry mat!
Well, I better get going. The kids are getting hungry and I have some Algebra to do. It is a little like Christmas around here because after 6 months of no cable, the cable guy came today to hook us up. It is nice to have my Food Network back and Jeremy is thrilled to have his sport channels back. He even got to watch the TN game today. Now I just have to stay focused and get some thing done :)
