We have had a good week. Tuesday nights we have Bible study at our house. We had a teacher friend and her husband Tuesday night for the study. We have been studying the book of Samuel and Tuesday night we were reading about the jealously that overtook Saul concerning David. Saul's jealously doomed him and turned him into an insecure, vindictive person for the rest of his life. It made me take a closer look at the jealousy that over takes me some times and is something I need to work on every day. This has really been an issue with me concerning our house situation. It is easy to look around and hear about other people buying houses or looking at what they have and become very jealous. We are currently house hunting but it has not been very successful and it has been a little discouraging. We looked at a condo on Wednesday night and it was pretty rough. We were supposed to look at a house Friday night but it turned out that the house needed a lot of work. The kitchen has been completely stripped, so we could not get financing even if we wanted to make an offer on it. I guess without a kitchen it is considered uninhabitable so lenders will not approve a loan. So our hunt continues.
Wednesday I picked the kids up early from school and took them to the dentist. Sam and Emma both have a cavity and I need to make an appointment with a pediatric dentist to look at the crowding issue Emma is having and Sam has a set of spacers that he has had since he was 4 years old that needs some extra attention. Chloe had no issues with her teeth :) Thursday was of course Halloween so it was a fun filled day. My preschoolers were absolutely adorable but it is one of the most exhausting days of the school year. The girls could dress up for school but Sam could not, but all three had fun Halloween activities at the end of the school day. It was raining all day Thursday so we thought Trick or Treating might not happen. The kids got dressed up and then we took them to McDonald's for supper. There was a short break in the rain so we took them trick or treating for a little while. The rain started back up so we called it a night. We came home and watched a movie and we let the kids stay up later since we did not have school on Friday. I woke up Friday with a bad headache but I just figured it was from all the rain. The kids and I stayed home and they were driving me crazy by asking every 5 minutes, "Can I have a piece of candy?" It was insane! Friday night we went and got some groceries and went to the mall for a few minutes. We came home and watched Monsters University and just hung out at home. My throat started hurting Friday night and I started to think I was coming down with something. I woke up Saturday morning and I was not feeling very well. By Saturday night I was feeling terrible. Sam and I were supposed to do a short race this morning downtown but I had to back out I felt so bad. Jeremy took Sam on a run this afternoon after church to make up for it. I am praying I only have one more day of feeling this terrible :(
Well, it was 5 years ago today that Chloe came home and became part of our family. It is hard to believe it has already been 5 years! She has kept us on our toes these past 5 years but she has also been a great joy to us. We pray that she will love and follow Jesus all of her days! Happy Gotcha Day Chloe!!
