I know you will not believe this, but I think I overdid it yesterday. Our Christmas stuff is stored under the stairs by the basement door, so I had to move several containers before I found the Christmas stuff. I also had to get the Christmas tree out to reach the containers, so I put the Christmas tree up after I got the lights around the windows. I had to move the living room furniture so I figured it would be a great time to see if the tree would fit in the space I  had made before I had the kids there to "help". It was also snowing and there was a Christmas movie on TV, so it was the perfect atmosphere to put up the tree. I did not put the ornaments on until the kids got home to help. After Sunday's busy day and yesterday my arm was hurting pretty bad last night. I am trying to rest today, but I did get some presents wrapped. I am almost done Christmas shopping, so I had a bunch of presents hidden in my closet and I was running out of space and it was hard keeping the...

We had a great weekend! I love Friday nights for many reasons, but I love that it is a no homework night. Some times the girls come home on Fridays and they want to do their homework, but I won't allow it :)! Thankfully this weekend the girls had very little homework and Samuel's was manageable. His reading teacher actually gave the homework that is also due tomorrow so we did most of it to keep homework down tonight. Samuel does have a social studies test today and a science test tomorrow, so I am praying he can stay focused these next two days and do well on them. All three kids were really sleepy this morning and they are ready for Thanksgiving break to get here. Saturday Jeremy had something to do, but he took the girls with him. Samuel and I cleaned the house and started prepping for our Thanksgiving lunch on Sunday and I actually got a little too excited that I finally got my cornbread situation figured out. Cornbread situation? So, I remember eating beans and cornbre...

It seems that setting my blog to private has caused some problems with some of my family and friends to log on and have access to my blog. My sister's invite sent her to a weird site that was in a different language, my mom could not get logged in, and I have had several others who couldn't access my blog through the invite, so I have decided to switch back to public for the time being. Thank you so much to those that took the extra step and did not have any problems, but part of the reason I blog is to keep family and friends in the loop of our lives and if they cannot read it then it kind of defeats the purpose :). Before I get far into this blog I want to wish my sister a very Happy  Birthday! I was going to spend this blog writing about her and then I remembered that I wrote a blog a few years ago in her honor, so you can read that here . Yesterday my parents came up to bring me my new dining room table and chairs and it was like Christmas at our house! The table and ch...

My timing for making my blog private has a lot to do with what has been going on in our personal life, but I had been thinking of making it private for a while. A few posts ago I posted a picture of Samuel wearing his school shirt and I was a little uneasy because I really don't want the world to know where my kids attend school. As we proceed with getting answers for Chloe I would like to be open about what we are finding out, but once again not really wanting to share it for anyone to read. I also want to be able to share specific needs that we are facing. I am so thankful for those that pray for us  and I want you to know exactly what our needs are at those moments. I promise this is not an attempt to talk bad about people or gossip. I actually feel like in my vagueness of describing the struggles I am greater danger of hurting someones character. I need this blog some days to let some stem off and I want to know that those reading what I wrote know my heart and I can trust shar...

It has been a rough week emotionally. I guess it was expected since last Sunday was just a blessing hearing all the chatter in my living room about the possibilities of Redemption Church. The room was filled with awesome things stirring! Monday and Tuesday were spent talking and listening to what we could do to help Chloe, which is always emotional for me. Tuesday's doctor appointment went well and we have been referred to a couple of specialists that focus on social spectrum of autism. Nobody is saying she has autism, but there is a processing delay in every area for Chloe and we just do not know to what extent. The week just got worse from there. I hate to admit that I was going to use this blog post as a sounding board for the anger and discouragement that has seized my heart and soul, but even in my emotional state I know that that is not beneficial. I just do not know how to process these feelings. The last time I was this angry and disappointed was in 2005 and trust me I di...

I took an extended break from blogging to rest my right hand and arm. I am not ready to give up blogging all together, but I probably will be writing less frequently for a few weeks. I think I have a combination of elbow and wrist problems and resting my arm seems to help relieve the pain. It is my right arm so it makes it a little more difficult. I have gone back to using Peapod so I do not have to carry in groceries and doing laundry on Saturdays or in the evening so I have some help. Last week went by pretty fast. Thursday night my parents came to town to give Emma her birthday presents and we all went to eat to celebrate my mom's birthday. The kids did not have school on Friday because of a school improvement day. The kids and I met my sister-in-law and two little nephews at Legoland Discovery Center. It is about 45 minutes away, but the kids loved it! They also got a new set of Legos to reward them for having all 'A's and 'B's' on their report cards!! Tha...

We had a pretty good weekend. Friday afternoon I went to the kid's school to help with Emma's Halloween party. Friday evening we attempted to go Trick or Treating but the weather got so terrible that we only went down one and a half streets. We drove over by the school and parked, but before we got out Emma said she didn't feel good, She said her throat and head were hurting. So, Jeremy let myself, Samuel, and Chloe out to trick or treat and took Emma to Walgreens to get some medicine. It was cold when we started, but it wasn't raining or snowing. We got down one of the streets and out of nowhere it was like a blizzard was upon us! It was so weird and it was so bad that we actually took shelter next to a house to get out of the pelting snow and wind. I called Jeremy to come and get us! Even after the flash blizzard passed we were so so wet and cold that I called it on the trick or treating. We headed over to IHOP to take advantage of the free scary-face pancakes for the...
