The kids woke up this morning bouncing off the walls excited about field day at school today and the anticipation of tomorrow being the last day of school. It was really cloudy this morning and when we got to the school it started to pour down rain! Thankfully for the kids (and the teachers) the rain moved out about 8:45 and it looks like field day will still be going on. I feel a little guilty not going to field day, but I learned last year that hundreds of kids running around outside at the end of the school year with little structure is not something I enjoy. In fact it drives me crazy! The kids are at an age that they would maybe like me to be there, but are totally fine if I do not go. My goal for today is to get the basement back together and get caught up on laundry.

So I mentioned the other day that I was hesitant about posting our situation with Jeremy's job. One of the reasons I was hesitant because I feel like some people will judge our decision to buy a house. Just the other day a comment was made about this decision. This person was not being mean and they are earnestly praying for our situation, but the comment was made about how "we already had pictures hung on the wall, so he really needs a job." My sister made a good point when I shared my concerns for people making comments and her response, "You still need a place to live. Whether an apartment or a house. You still have to pay to live somewhere." I am bringing this point up because the truth is the difference in our monthly payments are not a huge difference. I have been a little horrified to realize how much we were paying for utilities in the apartment and I am convinced that we were paying for more thann just our portion of the gas and electricity in the apartment. My gas bill is the same amount and in the apartment we only used gas for the hot water. Here we use gas for our hot water, dryer, and stove and our bill is the same? Our electric bill is actually less per month than the apartment. Math is not my strength, but something doesn't add up. Anyway, we really need your prayers concerning his job.

Well, I better get off the computer and start getting the basement back in order, but before I go I have a funny story. The ONLY benefit of living in the apartment was the fact that we were pretty safe from someone breaking into our apartment. For someone to break in to our apartment they would have to get through two heavy duty doors. They would also have to climb the crazy stairs to our apartment and let's be honest nobody would want to carry things back down those stairs. When we moved to our house we got the XFinity package that included a home security system to give us some peace of mind. When I am home I usually set the alarm, especially when I am getting a shower or laying down for a nap. One day last week I jumped in the shower and a few minutes in a heard some racket in the living room and on the stairs but my first reaction was that it was Lucy and Boots chasing each other or something, but I jumped out the shower to lock the bathroom door. I get back in to finish my shower and I hear thumping on the stairs that sounded like someone walking up the stairs and I couldn't remember if I set the alarm. The next thing I know the bathroom door is shaking like someone is trying to open it! I am starting to really freak out and I remember that I had at least brought my phone in the bathroom with me. I grab a towel and get out of the shower. I grab my phone and to my relief this is what was trying to get into the bathroom: My crazy cat! She was also pushing toys from Chloe's room down the stairs that was making all the racket. So thankfully not an intruder.

Well, this picture is typical of our morning. Chloe is smiley and ready to go. Emma is eating a piece of fruit, and Samuel is playing his DSI acting like he just wants to go back to bed :)
