We have an apartment!!! We went to Chicago this morning and signed the lease on our new home. The owners already put in new counters and the apartment looked much nicer than our first visit. It was also a totally different atmosphere once the owner and his brother saw the kids. If you know my kids personally you know how they seem to just win people over with their cuteness:) but when you throw in the fact that the owners are also Korean it was just a sweet time. We measured rooms and windows and then went outside so we could see where we would put our trash for pick-up. On the way inside I heard the owner asked Jeremy, "Where are your children from?" When Jeremy told him "Korea" the owner turned to his brother and said "They are from Korea!" The brother replied with a smile, "I know. I know what my people look like." The owner told us that someone looked at the apartment last night and was willing to pay full price, but he trusted his gut and told them no. He kept saying, "I know this was a great decision" and "I have such a good feeling about this!" The brothers also said that they looked forward to watching our kids grow up. It was such a sweet spirit and tears came to my eyes to think about what an awesome connection we have already made in Chicago. There were some neighbor kids playing outside so the kids were able to meet them. We will not be officially moving in until August 25th so we have a few weeks, but we are really excited to finally make the final move.
Here are a few pictures of the place. I did not get very many but here are a few.
The outside of the house. We will be living on the top floor.

My new background for the kids pictures:)

My favorite room in the place, the living room with the enormous windows.

The outdated kitchen, but has lots of cabinet space.

Oh Kim, I cried with you! My heart rejoices that you have made this connection. Blessings flow and will for your family. I made the same decision with making Laura's wedding plans when he told me he was from Korea and adopted I said he is the one.
ReplyDeleteWhen does school start? We miss you so very much. We cry but know your family is being obedient to His call. So with our tears are many prayers.
