Wow, where did the week go!? I am trying to be good about blogging a few times a week, but last week was pretty crazy and ended with a weekend of me being sick once again. Wednesday of last week we had Open House at school for Prek-4th grade. It was a really long day! I was able to talk to the girls teacher for a few minutes. Chloe has been enjoying school but we have had some sort of issue with her behavior every day since we started. I spoke with her teacher about specific issues and Jeremy and I both talked to Chloe when we got home. We had great hopes that she would have a good day Thursday. Well, that did not happen:( She had her clip moved to the lowest animal (Sad Snake). She topped off her terrible day by pooping in her pants 5 minutes before school let out. She lied to the teacher and said her stomach hurt, but it was solid ( I know gross!) and it turns out she was playing blocks and did not want to stop playing to go to the bathroom. Jeremy had to be at school Thursday for Open House for 5th-8th grades, so her punishment came when he got home that evening. We made cookies but she did not get any because "her tummy hurt." I know, I am a cruel mom, but I told her that it never pays off to tell a lie. If her tummy was hurting she did not need any sweets. Thankfully, Friday was a much better day and she actually had her clipped moved up for good behavior. Today was back down, but we will continue to try to figure out what will work to get her to behave. It does get discouraging. It is crazy because we discipline her! She knows what is expected of her and that she will get in trouble. This afternoon Jeremy asked her if she wanted a spanking or go to bed earlier than Sam and Emma for her punishment for getting her clip moved today. She thought about it for a minute and then asked, "Will there be any coloring before bed?" Jeremy, 'No." Chloe, " Will you be using your hand or our belt?" Jeremy had to send her away he was about to laugh so hard!!! I guess she wanted to explore both options!
Testing started Friday for the students. This is the first formal testing for the kids that determine a variety of things for them and the teachers. Friday was just a practice test for the Kindergarten classes and Emma knocked it out of the park! she scored the highest out of the class and the first nine questions her sound was not working on the computer so she was reading the questions! She finally asked for help when the questions got too hard to read! Today started the reading tests and Emma scored at a 1st Grade level and had the highest score out of the Kindergarten and 1st grade classes!! Friday we got a weekly progress for Samuel. At the beginning of 3rd grade the benchmark is to read 72 words/minute. Samuel is reading 96 words/minute! His reading testing today scored him the 2nd highest and at a level of beginning 4th grade. I am always proud of my kids and would still be proud if these scores were different, but this momma is beaming!
This past weekend was pretty rough on me and I am praying that I am finally on the mend from whatever I have had the past few weeks. Last week I had this terrible cough (which I never get a cough), running nose, headache, and sore throat. Friday night I coughed all night! I got up about 6:30 Saturday morning and found some cough medicine and went back to bed. I woke up and started to try to get some things down while Jeremy went to the laundry mat for me. I was going through some clothes and all of a sudden I felt sick to my stomach and then started throwing up. I cleared off my bed and stayed in bed most of the day. I got up a few times but every time I moved around I ended up back in the bathroom. I got addicted to the show "Downton Abbey" a few weeks ago, so I was able to watch all of Season 1 and 2 so I would be caught up for the new season in January. I was glad I was ab;e to find them online:) I woke up Sunday and I thought I felt better. I planned to go to church but once I got up and moved around I realized that I had a fever. I headed back to bed and that is where I stayed and slept most of the day. I am feeling better, but I still have yucky white pockets on my tonsils and still had a few coughing fits today.
Well, I better get supper going. Here are a few pictures from this week. Emma is holding our new favorite breakfast treat, Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts:)
