Wednesday, October 31, 2012- Happy Halloween and October Wrap Up

Is anybody else in complete shock that tomorrow is the first day of November? I sure am! I know from tomorrow until the end of the year will fly, but I LOVE this time of year. I am looking forward to the Holidays in Chicago. Today the kids dressed up as a police officer (Sam), Emma was a chef, and Chloe was the perfect Snow White. The kids all wore their costumes to school and we all had a parade in the gym. It was going to be outside but it was just too cold. After school we went to a Halloween event at the Chicago Parks building close to our house. The kids got candy and were able to play some games.

We have had a good month. We had lots of visitors and are finally getting in the swing of living in Chicago. We have enjoyed many letters and cards in the mail from our friends in TN and it justs warms us to know so many are thinking of us. Emma got a letter in the mail today from one of her sweet friends from K4 and it made her week. It has started to turn chilly here in the city and we had our first fire in our fireplace a few nights ago. It is just so cozy! Our apartment smells a little like smoke, but it gives it a cabin-type feel to it:) Chloe has improved a great deal in her behavior and I really do appreciate the prayers on her (and our behalf). I have noticed that the prayers of Sam and Emma have turned from "Please let our house sell" to "Please let Chloe have a good day tomorrow." This past Sunday we traveled a few hours to Decatur, IL and we were able to share some about Chicago. It was nice to see some familiar faces and visit for a few minutes. It was a long day Sunday, but it was a good time of fellowship. The past few days the teacher I teach with in the mornings has been out because she got stranded in Philly because of the storm, so I have had an exhausting week already. As I looked at the calendar this is our only full week of school until the end of November, so I am just trying to hang on and look forward to a few days rest.

I have decided to try to post something I am thankful for every day in November and maybe a picture or two:) I am going to start a day early though. We are needing to change our license plates from TN to IL. Our plates expire today but we needed the title to change it over and it got misplaced in the move. I know I put all our important documents and things in folders and placed them all together in the same spot. I have been looking for weeks for the title. I had all the other documents, but could not find it. It really has been a great concern finding it. Tonight on the way home I decided I was going to take everything out of the filing cabinet (AGAIN) and go through all the paper. As silly as it sounds, I prayed that it would be in there. I promise you, I took the stack of papers in the first folder and the title was right on top. It was such a huge blessing and I am thankful we can now get all of that in order.

Here are the kids at the Halloween event tonight. Sam's eyes crack me up!
