"Keep walking with Me along the path I have chosen for you. Your desire to live close to Me is a delight to My heart. I could instantly grant you the spiritual riches you desire, but that is not My way for you. Together we will forge a pathway up the high mountain. The journey is arduous at times, and you are weak. Someday you will dance light-footed on the high peaks; but for now, your walk is often plodding and heavy. All I require of you is to take the next step clinging to My hand for strength and direction. Though the path is difficult and the scenery dull at the moment, there are sparkling surprises just around the bend. Stay on the path I have selected for you. It is truly the path of Life. "
Jesus Calling- July 14

This was not the scheduled devotion I was reading today, but I had to go back to it for encouragement. I have found myself still trying to take control of my situation and still trying to change course. I have been talking with some friends lately and I take some comfort in knowing that I am not the only one struggling with control issues :) Every day I have to give it to God and be thankful that even in my rebellious heart He is using me.

Yesterday the kids and I stayed home all day. I did a little cleaning but by 3:00 I wasn't convinced that I had anything! I usually do not "share" those somee cards from FB but this one totally fit how I feel.

I have been trying NOT to be a crazy cleaning lady, but I notice I like living in this apartment a whole lot more when it is nice and clean :) I am also pretty excited because I think this weekend we are ordering a new couch and getting a new dining room table. We have had our couch for about 11 years and it is looking pretty pitiful. We have been talking about getting a knew one for several years, but did not want to spend the  money. Jeremy is getting his first summer school pay check tomorrow so we are going to use it to buy the couch and dining table. Our dining room table is the same one we bought when we were a family of three. There are only 4 chairs so we have to pull up a folding chair for our whole family to sit together. We have made the commitment to eat dinner every night as a family and so a new table and chairs will be wonderful for us! Samuel has a "Cars" themed room and I knew the day was coming that he would request for a new room design. I switched some curtains out in the living room and he asked me yesterday if I would put the ones I had just taken down in his room. He then asked if he could take the Cars stickers down from his wall. I had a gift certificate that I had gotten at the end of school and so we decided to go today and get him a new bedroom comforter and sheets. One more reminder of how much he is growing up :( Well, I better get going. We are picking up Jeremy and heading to the zoo for a few hours. Another perk of living in this great city, a free zoo!

Sam's new bedding.
