I know it has been three weeks since my last post. Life got really crazy and then I felt like to much time had gone by so I knew that if I didn't post tonight it would probably be another 6 months before I picked up writing again. The first weekend of April we had a Riggs' invasion going on in my house. ALL of Jeremy's family came in for the weekend so the siblings could run a half marathon with their dad. We had 18 people staying in our house from Thursday-Monday. It was so much work to get ready fro everyone, but it was a great weekend all being together. We only are all together around Thanksgiving or Christmas time. Jeremy and his brothers led worship at our church Sunday and it was just a sweet time for them and our church. Everyone left on Monday and our Spring break started on Monday so I had plenty of time to get my house back together, or so I thought. I took it easy on Monday because I was just too tired to do anything on Monday. I slept in a little on Tuesday. I got up and got some coffee but I didn't even take a drink before a nasty stomach bug hit me. I went back and forth from the bed to the toilet all day on Tuesday. I was miserable. I thought I was better Tuesday evening, but woke up in the early hours of Wednesday throwing up. It was a rough 24 hours 😢. We had been planning on going camping on Thursday-Saturday, but there was forecast for rain while we were camping and I was concerned that someone else would catch this nasty bug and that would really be unpleasant sleeping in a tent. We changed our plans and we ended up going to an indoor water park hotel just for Thursday night. The kids had so much fun on Thursday. We had a great time together on our mini-vacation, but early Friday morning my previous concern became an issue. Emma threw up at 3:00 Friday morning and Jeremy joined her around 6:30 that morning. Samuel and Chloe swam some more and by lunch time Emma felt well enough (and hadn't gotten sick anymore) so she did the lazy river for a while. We let the kids play in the arcade for a little bit and then we headed home. Friday evening I went to the grocery store so that I would not have to leave the house on Saturday. While I was gone my dog Minnie got into my toiletries bag and destroyed everything in it. She emptied my contact solution and a whole bottle of liquid Motrin. She also destroyed my makeup bag and breaking almost all of my makeup (she didn't get it open but bit everything inside) and destroyed Emma's retainer. I was mad because she ruined everything! I was mad that nobody left in my house did not even check on her the two hours I was gone and I was freaking out about the medicine she got into. I was reading all of these terrible things online. I was relieved when I found the puddle of medicine and the blanket soaked in the medicine because I don't think she actually drank any of it, she just bit holes in it. I was pretty nervous all night and praying over my dog. She was fine on Saturday, but Saturday night she started throwing up. I was up with her most of the night because she was so restless. Sunday morning before church she threw up a few more times and I was so worried to leave her to go to church. I was certain that she was going to die or something while I was at church. I had given her a bone to eat on Saturday and I think that is actually what made her sick. She was fine when we got home and she hasn't gotten sick anymore. Sunday afternoon we went to our friend's parents house for Easter and it was a great day celebrating our Savior. Chloe was the only one I could get to do the egg hunt and our family picture this year looks like Jeremy has four children 😆. The girls will be taller than me by next year I am afraid! It was a rough first week of spring break, thankfully for us we get two weeks for break. This past week has been much less eventful. We chilled at home the first few days of the week. We did make a trip to the orthodontist to get a new retainer 😒. Thursday the kids and I went down to my parent's house for a few days. It was nice to spend a few days with them. Thursday night we went up to my dad's work and went though some containers of some of my stuff. It was an emotional night finding items that brought back so many wonderful memories. Friday we did some shopping and Saturday we headed home.
It is back to reality tomorrow. We are on the home stretch of the school year ending. I ma praying that these last six weeks will go smoothly and that I can continue to pour into my students what they are needing to learn from me. Tuesday night is the first High School open house and I would ask that you would bathe this ministry in prayer. Please pray that it would fill up with students. Lots of interest but not a lot of students registered yet. We are trusting and believing the Lord with continue to bless.
Have a great week!
