Tuesday, February 12, 2013- Juicing Day 4
So...evidentally making it through day 3 does not necessarily mean smooth sailing. I slept good last night and I actually got to sleep in until 8:30 (Woo Hoo!) I woke up a little cranky. Not quite hungry, just cranky. Jeremy lost 3 more pounds and I lost 1 one more pound. I got a little angry, but I refocused and realized that it is one more pound towards my goal. We had a juice made of oranges, pineapple, and carrots for breakfast. Despite it's very carrot looking appearance, the pineapple and orange flavor outweighed the carrot and it was pleasantly good. Jeremy and Chloe headed off to the laundry mat to do several loads of laundry (SIGH) that I have been putting off for far too long. I stayed home with the other two and got the house cleaned. I also did a mile and half on my Walk Away the Pounds DVD. Jeremy got home and I started to put clothes away while he made us a juice of just oranges and pineapple.
Since we had the day off of school Jeremy got me an appointment for a 30 minute foot and head massage. He heard it was hard to find and he knows that I hate going to a new place and not knowing the parking situation, so he and the kids came with me and just waited until I was done. Well, something got lost in translation and after my foot and head massage (which was wonderful) the lady took me to another room and did a back massage for another 30 minutes, Jeremy was not too happy that now he would be waiting for 60 minutes with the kids, but I was kinda in an awkward situation and who could resist 30 minutes more of a massage :) We got home around 3:45 and then the kids and I started on their Valentines for their class. I do not remember doing Valentines being so complicated! I seriously was about to go crazy! We got all the girls' done and will finish Sam's tomorrow night.
It always gets a little edging at our house around supper time. I have tried to get simple things for the kids to eat this week, but I also did not want to stuff them full of junk and processed food all week. I have done soups and chicken patties and things like that for them. Tonight they wanted pancakes. I somehow managed to make the pancakes and put peanut butter and syrup on the pancakes without taking one little nimble. I have realized these past 4 days and how often I eat something and not even realize it. I put some crackers up the other night and I realized that normally I would have grabbed a few and ate them. I had syrup on my finger tonight after Sam got way too much on his plate and without thinking I almost just licked it off. I think I have said this in every post so far, but this fast is much more than just weight loss. I want to retrain my body, mind, and emotions when it comes to food. Learn some discipline and restraint and figure out how to live healthy after our fast is over.
Well, tonight's juice was made of peaches, limes, apples, and mint leaves. It is good, but a little heavy on the lime.

I have resorted to letting the kids make their own supper :) They did the mixing, I did the cooking. You may also notice my lonely coffee maker on the table behind the kids :(
