I usually pick one day a week to do several loads of laundry. The last few weeks Fridays have become the day that I spend a majority of that day doing the laundry. Last Friday I did not get to do as many loads as I usually do because I ran out or quarters. This past Friday I had more than normal amounts of laundry so I decided it was only fitting to visit our local laundry mat one more time to say good-bye :). I got all of the laundry finished in about an hour and half and I left thankful that these days of struggling over laundry are almost over. I will have to do one or two loads this week at the apartment, but will not have the hours of going up and down the stairs with loads of laundry. Nobody should be surprised if I take a load a dirty clothes with me to closing on Friday and then head to the house to start that washing machine up :). After I got the laundry done I had to get a few groceries and I did a little shopping for the house. Jeremy and I will be married 15 years this June and many of the household items we have are ones we got 15 years ago. They have fit perfectly in this apartment because they look old and worn out and look dirty no matter how many times you clean them. I obviously am not going to replace everything at once, but I have been pricing items at different stores and look for good deals. A few weeks ago my comforter was torn while being washed in the basement washing machine so a new comforter set was something I was wanting to get for the new house. I went to Kohl's on Thursday and looked and priced some comforter sets. I found one that I really liked and it was on sale. I have a Kohl's gift card from Christmas, Kohl's cash, and had an extra 20% off in coupons. I was going to wait until this week to purchase the set, but I saw that my Kohl's cash was expiring so I went back Friday to get the comforter set. I get to the register and it rings up at full price and a price that I would never pay. The lady told me that I picked up the wrong set that was on sale. I told her that the sale signs were on the exact same comforter set that I had picked up. This comforter was the display model for the sale. There were two sale signs on the bed and there was a green sign above the comforter stating it was on sale. Thankfully she finally went back to check and told me that she would give it to me for the sale price, but it was a mistake. I did not care whose mistake it was but I got my $300 comforter set for $25 :).
Friday afternoon Samuel had a 5th grade dance at school. It was not a big deal. It was just for fun to hang out with his friends. I picked the kids up from school and then we rushed home so he could change clothes and then headed back to school. The girls and I hung out in the auditorium while the dance was going on. I visited with other parents and the girls played with some of their friends who were also waiting on a sibling. Samuel had so much fun! On Saturday Jeremy had to go to his school for a few hours. Chloe went with Jeremy and I helped Samuel finish a book report project. I cleaned the house a little, but really did not do much of anything else. Sunday was church and then we went out for a late lunch. When we got home Chloe and I took a nap. I know it does not make sense, but this time change really messes me up! Last night against Samuel's request, Jeremy cut his hair. It was just getting too long and so thick. Sometimes his hair looked great long, but most of the time it looked crazy. He will be starting track back up soon and with warmer weather coming we told him it was time to get it cut. He still looks handsome and I reassured him that it will grow back :).
This morning was a struggle getting the kids awake and out the door, but we made it to school in plenty of time. This weeks weather is going to amazing and we are all looking forward to spending some time outside and finally enjoying some sunshine. My plan for this week is to get things packed up and ready to move. We close on Friday and will spend all of next week moving things over in smaller loads. Next Saturday the 21st we have things set up to move all of our big furniture. It is going to be difficult to not be in the house for another week after closing, but this is the way it is working out. It really is going to be better moving smaller loads instead of getting everything out of this apartment and down the insane stairs all in one day.
