Any other parents out there feel like you are constantly fighting your kids over homework? This year has been a never-ending struggle with Samuel to get his homework done and to do his best on it. I do feel bad for him because as a teacher/parent I feel that his homework load is a little bit too much on a nightly basis. Tuesday afternoon I went on the school website to check grades and homework  was due that day. His last few homework grades have been terrible in each class. I check the website daily to see what homework he has due and the last few weeks I kept getting "I already did that at school." It was true that he had done it as school but I was horrified to find out he was doing the homework in the hallway in between classes without using his book to help him! He is just so burnt out from homework, but that does not excuse his behavior. He had a nice long lecture and he was upset that his grades had dropped significantly since progress reports. The good news is that we have until April to get the grades back up, but now we spend the rest of the quarter stressing out (sigh).

Yesterday went by so quickly that I am not even sure what went on :). The weather has been bearable the last few days but today the the temperatures have dipped back into the super cold negative degree numbers. There is hope for next week of seeing several days in the 40's! Someone is supposed to come see the apartment today at 11:00, but the landlord has not answered any of my texts verifying that they are still coming. I am super annoyed, but I have been cleaning up and making the apartment ready if they happen to still be coming. We did get an awesome email yesterday that everything has cleared  with the underwriter for our mortgage and we are cleared to close next week! Yay! Yay! Yay! That pessimistic side of myself still will not totally relax until we have actually closed, but we are getting closer and I feel like the major stress of the process is over. I still cannot thank everyone enough for your prayers for us over the last almost three years. I have been overwhelmed at the interest so many have had in our housing situation and your happiness for us has been amazing!

This week has been Read Across America at the kid's school so each day they have had a special day. Yesterday was Wacky Wednesday and they were supposed to wear mismatched clothes. Chloe did not want to dress mismatched, but I was able to get a picture of Samuel and Emma.
