Once upon a time we never had any plans and we never had to go anywhere. We did not have any friends, support system, or any social interaction either, so I guess I have to pick my poison 😏. Seriously, we have been so crazy busy that this is really the only time I have had to sit down and actually write. Although it has been busy it has been filled with doing amazing things and spending time with the people that the Lord has surrounded us with.Tuesday I ended up subbing for the 2nd grade teacher who caught this nasty bug that is going around. Tuesday night we went to an orientation at World Relief Chicago with our community group to see what options we have to help refugee families. With the current ban on refugees coming into the country there is not as great of a need at the moment, but our group wants to be ready for action when the need comes up. We took our children with us to the meeting. They are old enough to hear all that is being said about refugees and I wanted them to get a glimpse into the fact that they are people created and loved by God and we have an opportunity to share the Love of Christ with those from other countries. Wednesday night we usually have group at our house. We cancelled because we were together Tuesday night so I thought I would get a break from my extreme cleaning, but Jeremy got a call Wednesday that the handymen could come and finally fix my bathtub on the main floor. Oh, I guess I haven't mentioned that one of our tubs has been leaking for a while now. Back in September (😶) we noticed that we had a moldy, water spot in the spare room in our basement. A man from church came over and he and Jeremy figured out that it was coming from the actual faucet and only leaked when the water was on in the tub, so no tub since September. So, when Jeremy said that someone could come the next day to fix it I told them to come on. That meant moving and cleaning the area by the back door because they would have to cute a hole in the wall to get to the pipe and cleaning out the spare room in the basement that is used as our storage room. Wednesday night Jeremy got a call that he needed to go to a meeting about the high school Thursday afternoon. Jeremy had already taken off work so it worked perfect, the problem was that he needed to leave before the plumbers were finished, so I came home for 45minutes or so until they were finished. The meeting did not go as well as we thought and it kind of caused me some anxiety. Thursday night was Family Game night at our school for junior high, so we all went and watched Jeremy and Samuel play a basketball game, kids vs. parents and the girls played some dodge ball and I just visited with the other moms and teachers. Late nights all week made for a sleepy Friday. Friday night was Game night for preschool, so I went back to school for my class. I was determined that Saturday was going to be a day of just resting, especially for Jeremy who has basically been working two jobs. He gets a call Friday night that he needs to have another meeting about high school stuff. He went and met with some people around 8:00 Saturday morning. I got some laundry going and then when he got back Emma and I had to run a few errands. We stopped at McDonald's when we were just a few minutes from home and got some sandwiches for lunch. As I pulled out of the drive-thru I heard a weird noise coming from the vehicle. Our street is technically the next street after McDonald's, but since it's one-way I had to go up to the next street. I pulled over in a parking spot because I knew something was not right, sure enough my back tire was completely flat! We live on the next street over and up a block, but I did not want to cause any damage to the rim. Jeremy brought the other car to me and we headed to the house while he waited for roadside assistance because he could not get the tire off. 3 HOURS LATER, someone finally showed up. It turned out to be a not so restful day. The weather people are saying we are going to get some snow tonight and snow until Tuesday. For the first time ever in Chicago history we had a January and February without any snow, Snow in March is not very nice. The extreme change in the temperature has also made for a very painful day for me. With all the business and late nights, I was a little worried about Chloe's behavior this week. She had a pretty good week. There have been a few incidents, but each time she was honest about what happened and fessed up to her role in the situation. It was a good lesson on the fact that we know she will make mistakes, but we want her to be honest and take responsibility for her actions. She did not earn her "star" one day this week. She once again used markers to "paint" her nails during school. I was so upset that she disobeyed and I asked her why would she risk losing her reward of getting her nails done at the salon for something that wasn't even nail polish. Why would she choose rubbish for something wonderful? But then conviction takes hold of my own heart and think about how many times have a I made decisions and rushed things when Jesus wanted to do something so much more wonderful if I would just wait on Him. She has one more week to go to reach her goal and I am hoping next weekend I get to have that special day with her.

Well, my week has been so busy (and I hate grocery shopping) that I have Peapod delivering my groceries in just a few minutes. I just got a text that I am the next one on their route. Have a great week! Please continue to pray for the new High School. So many decisions that need to be made and so many details that need to fall into place.

Sweet girl

Yep, bathtub is working again 😉
