This has been a busy week! I ended up working at the craft fair at the kid's school all day Monday and Tuesday. Samuel has chess club on Monday's after school so Monday it was later before we got home. Wednesday I had to catch up on laundry and groceries and I had a few little presents to get for Christmas. This morning has filled with a few more loads of laundry (decided to do laundry in our building this week), doing some baking for treats for teachers, and getting clothes put away from laundry. The girls have a music program at 1:00 so I will be heading to their school in a few hours. Tomorrow morning at 8:30 we have Chloe's IEP meeting which is just a meeting to see if she is making her benchmarks for her speech services and make any changes if needed. From 9-10 I will be in Samuel's classroom for breakfast with his class. The class had to do a cereal box book report. The students will be sharing and the parents were invited to join them for breakfast. At 1:00 I will be with Chloe and Emma's class for a "Frozen" party. At 2:00 they have art class, but I am going to stay and help Chloe's teacher take things down and get ready for the new year. It is a busy schedule, but I am so thankful that I can do these activities this year! Saturday we are heading to my parent's house to have Christmas. Sunday afternoon Jeremy and Samuel are going to the Bears game. Sunday evening we will be oping some of our presents. I am going to take some of the smaller presents for them to open in TN on Christmas morning.
I had so much more to write today, but I am running out of time before I have to get ready to go. I did want to mention that the opportunity I mentioned in the last post is not going to work out. Just like everything else in Chicago, there were lots of politics involved and it just isn't going to work out. I have to admit that I was pretty bummed about it not working, but I have to believe that it just means something better is around the corner.
I started a devotion plan this morning on my Bible app. It is called "Waiting Here for You, An Advent Journey of Hope" by Louis Giglio. This was from this morning's devotion and I thought it was so good. I also know that many of us are dealing with the same struggle.
"All of us are waiting on something, often wondering if God has forgotten us. In your waiting, let the birth of Christ encourage you. Just because God hasn’t come through (as far as you can see), it doesn’t mean He has abandoned you. To Him a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day. This very minute He’s working for His glory and for your good. Though circumstances say otherwise, God is going to come through, on schedule, fulfilling His long-appointed plans for you. Don’t give up before the time is right.
Take hope in the manger and know that you are loved and prized by the God who stepped down from heaven and arrived at the perfect time for you."
Taking pictures in the auditorium at the kid's school never turn out very good, so I got a picture of my beautiful girls this morning.
