I came to the conclusion over Thanksgiving break that my kids spend way too much time on electronic devices. It really has gotten out of control! The first thing they say each morning is, "Can I play on the Ipad?" Not "good morning" or "hello", they ask to play something electronic or watch TV. Over Thanksgiving they went from the TV to the Ipad to their DSI's to my mom's Kindle and they acted like they were dying when we made them turn all of those things off. They all love to play board games with us and I have to admit the ones we have are not necessarily my favorite, so a few weeks (probably months now) I bought my favorite childhood game, Clue! The kids loved playing and they caught on quickly. Yesterday I was at Wal-Mart and I saw that they had one of my other favorite games on sale, Rummikub. I know it is kind of close to Christmas to be giving them gifts, but I thought it would help with our electronic addiction. After homework and supper last night I taught Samuel and Emma how to play (Chloe got in HUGE trouble during supper so she was sent to her room). We ended up playing four games last night and they are already making plans to play tonight. Chloe might be able to get in on the game tonight.

This morning I spent a few hours at the laundromat. I really do not like going to the laundromat, but sometimes it's just easier to do all of the loads at the same time and not spend all day going up and down the stairs. The Winter months we go through so many more clothes because we layer everything and the jeans and sweatshirts just take up extra room. The washer in the basement is about 100 year old and the tub is pretty small. I know I am not supposed to overload the washer, but let's be honest, I am going to cram as many clothes as I can in that machine! There are written notes on the machine about not overloading, so I have been trying to do better but it makes for extra loads. At the laundromat I can drag everything in one trip get it washed and dried, folded and sorted. It also forces me to match and fold the socks. I have an embarrassing confession and insight to how I will be spending the rest of my afternoon. I have shared MANY times how much I hate matching and folding socks and it usually gets way out of control and every one is out of socks before I break down and sort them. While I was putting clothes away today I noticed a laundry bag full of unmatched socks that I had shoved in the back of my closet at some time in the past few months. They are all dumped out on the couch and I will conquer them today by the weekend :). Sometimes I feel like there are some good life lessons in my sock chaos, but I am still working on what that could be. It is a little weird because my personality is that I hate to leave things unfinished. I also hate backtracking so it is strange that I could live with the fact that some of these socks were washed weeks ago and were right in front of me to take care of knowing that if I put them aside I would eventually have to come back to them. I just don't understand why I hate this chore so much!
Anyone need any socks? :)

Well this will be the last post for this week. We have a super busy weekend! My nephew Kraig will be in town and I cannot wait to spend some time with him! I haven't seen him since last Christmas and I love and miss that boy so much! I will be in and out tomorrow and through the weekend. Emma is going to her friend's birthday party on Saturday. This will be her first time attending a friend's party. It is at a bowling alley and I will stay with her, so at least that helps my anxiety. With everything going on I was going to call and say she wouldn't be going, but I think that these connections are important. On Monday I am going on a field trip with Samuel's class. One of the benefits we talked about with me staying home this year was that I could go on field trips and there wouldn't be an issue if the kids were sick. This is the first field trip offered out of the three kids and nobody has missed a day of school for sickness :).

I told you he acts silly when I try to take his picture

My view this morning. Oh, and I love McDonald's White Chocolate Mocha
