The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Savior.
My God is my rock.
I can run to him for safety.
He is my shield and my saving strength, my defender.Psalm 18:2
Today I am thankful that God is all of those things listed in the verse above. This verse was the verse for today and I was so encouraged considering all of the battles we have been fighting lately. I love the imagery of Him being our shield. Shielding us from all the weapons used by the enemy to harm us. I love the imagery of Him being our defender, fighting for us!
Today I am thankful for the opportunity to stay home with year. It was tough in the beginning not being in the classroom, but each day that goes by I know that this was the right decision. It is no wonder that I was stressed out and in constant pain while working. I am not sure how I did it the last few years. I am thankful that I can get things done while the kids are at school and then focus on them when they are home. Last night we made some white chocolate covered pretzels and I am thankful that I now have time to do special treats during the school week.
I am thankful for the hope that one day I will once again have a washer and dryer in my own house :). See what I did there? I am really trying to focus on the positive with my laundry situation, but yesterday was spent washing sheets, blankets, towels, and rugs. I had to wait for the bank to open to get quarters and then I went up and down the stairs from 9:30 yesterday morning until 2:00 yesterday afternoon. The night before Chloe clogged the toilet and then it overflowed all the way into the hallway (I don't think it was from any Skittles) so I had to use almost all of my towels to clean it up. I so wished that I could just throw them in the washer! The good news is that I got in all of my 10,000 steps just doing the laundry. Unfortunately, my legs are paying for it today.
Here are a few pictures of the kids making the treats.
