It was back to school for the kids on Friday despite the fact that is was colder Friday than it was Thursday. It was probably a good thing for the kids to go back because they were getting a little stir crazy. I also was running out of basic necessities (we were actually rationing toilet paper) and there was no way I was going to get out in the cold with all three kids. Saturday we all slept in and then we headed to my nephew's first birthday party. We got stuck in traffic so we were really late to the party, but it was fun to see my family and watch little guy eat his birthday cupcake. He is so adorable even when he is covered in cake.

The big news around here is that we have made an offer on a house close to our neighborhood. Jeremy saw the listing on Saturday and it has only been on the market three days. We went to see the house Saturday evening and we decided to go ahead and make an offer. The house is a foreclosure and based on the location, size, and the price we know there will be multiple offers. The market in Chicago is fierce and these houses are snatched up so quickly. We are hoping that since we acted so quickly we might have a better chance of the bank accepting our offer. There are mixed emotions because if by some miracle we get the house there is a lot of work that needs to be made to the house. So I am trying to focus on if we do not get the house it is for our good. It is also nerve racking when dealing with the bank because they may not get back with us either way for several days. I am also trying to focus on the fact that it is exciting to actually be making active progress to move from this apartment. The offer was submitted to the bank about 30 minutes ago and I really am fighting major anxiety. The problem is I don't know if I am more nervous about getting the house or not getting the house :). I will keep you updated. Thank you to so many who have been praying about our housing situation since we moved here.

Yesterday morning we had church and it was so nice to have everyone back in town. One of our college students brought her mom and a friend that drove her back down to Moody. These individuals attend Jeremy's brother's church in MI and it was so nice for them to join us. It was a great time together! After service we all went to lunch at a local restaurant and paid for some people who came in after us. Our goal as a church these next few months is to really saturate our neighborhood and be a blessing to those who live here.

My anti-social cat has started curling up with me every night when I get in bed
